Menu - Week of June 17, 2007

Last week was another interesting week.

K. and I were pretty much home-bound and still managed to have some fun. Friday afternoon A. came home early and I took the opportunity to shuffle us over to the rock store and pick up some grit for K.'s rock tumbler. If this tumbling thing is going to be something she's into for a while, I may have to insist that she be gotten one of those nifty (expensive) tumblers with the padding around the cylinder so that the process is all but silent. The constant sound of rocks/stones being tumbled for weeks at a time is enough to drive me crazy.

Father's Day was mostly lazy with a little bit of errand running.

This week I'm starting to work exercising back into my schedule (is fell off the schedule when school let out), and I'm hoping to have project:declutter living room all but completed by the end of the week. That will, of course, depend greatly on how much K. cooperates in doing her tasks for the week and how much time I actually have to devote to sorting through piles of stuff. It will also depend on how often the felines decide to "help". After being trapped at home all week last week, it will also depend on how often I just want to be anywhere but here.

On Wednesday K. and I are hitting the free summer movie program again. She has the option of two movies: Rugrats in Paris and Ice Age: Meltdown. Since she knows the script of Ice Age by heart, she opted for Rugrats. Oh. Joy. It's a good thing I love the kid.

And the menu, because apparently we must eat. My family seems happier when I feed them. A couple things are repeat/carry-overs from last week, and it's a fairly simple/lazy week in the cooking department since I plan to be busy in other areas of my life. And, of course, the menu is subject to change at the drop of a half-formed whim or a good strong breeze.

As always, much gratitude for Laura at I'm an Organizing Junkie for hosting Menu Plan Monday.

When school is in session, I do the "grab anything" thing for lunch because it's just me. During the summer (and extended school holidays) when K. is home I plan lunches, otherwise I've found that we don't eat!

And thanks everyone.

Everything sounds great. I had to laugh when I read "my family seems happier when I feed them". Mine's like that too, LOL.

Have a great week!
