Menu - week of June 24, 2007

This week K. and I have plans to hit two of the free summer movies offered in the area; one on Tuesday and then one on Wednesday. Last week we made our own popcorn in the microwave and took that in bags. I think this week she wants to make it in the pot on the oven.

We also hit the public library downtown on Saturday and have a lot of reading planned for this week. We do have some cleaning planned, but we need a break and we need to have some fun. So what if our brand of fun is sprawling about most of the day reading? It's not a bad way to spend the week, I think.

I'm making progress on my virtual bike tour across America (the details of which can be found here in my exercising blog), so yay me!

Finally, the menu for this week, because my family seems so much happier when I feed them. A couple things are repeat/carry-overs from last week, because I got lazy last week and didn't cook them. I don't know what, if anything, I'll cook/bake/make that will fall into the "extra" category this week. I think I'll play things by ear and use this week to plan better for next week. And, of course, the menu is subject to change at the drop of a half-formed whim or a good strong breeze, 'cause that's the way I am when it comes to food.

As always, much gratitude for Laura at I'm an Organizing Junkie for hosting Menu Plan Monday.

Looks great! I mde the Lemon Garlic Chicken, just makle sure you add real lemon juice and not concentrated. I know i am crazy! I add the 1/2 cup concentrated and then substituted 7-up for white wine, talk about lemony. I hope yours comes out better than mine. I love the idea of using pork instead of chicken!

Thanks for the visits and the kind words, everyone, and to answer the questions put forth...

The free movies K. and I are seeing this week are Dougal and Happy Feet.

I'm finishing up the book The New Destroyer:Guardian Angel by Warren Murphy and James Mullaney tonight. I don't know if I'll pick up The Man from Stone Creek by Linda Lael Miller, Vanished by Karen Robards, or Storm Front by Jim Butcher tomorrow. Over the next two weeks I plan on getting to all three so I'm not sure it really matters which order I read them in!
